This image is taken from an article by Chris Anderson and MIchael Wolff called The Web Is Dead. Long Live the Internet at Wired Magazine. It (and the subsequent article) suggests that the web, in the sense of accessing the internet through a web browser, is in decline. This decline is attributed to the increasing number of internet-enable apps on smart devices like iPhones that allow internet access without requiring a web browser (think Firefox, Chrome, etc.) and consequently HTML.
Are they right?
Update: Here is a criticism of the Wired’s visualisation at Boing Boing (thanks to @theunfocused for pointing it out to me).
