Cancer Society: Relay for Life

In a couple of weeks (February 21st-22nd) I will be joining hundreds of others in a 24 hour continuous walk called the Relay for Life. The motivation for this event is to celebrate survivors of cancer, commemorate those that have died from the disease and to raise further money to carry on research into treatment.

Walkers doing the good stuff

I am part of a team comprising many of my colleagues at the Information Science department here at the University of Otago. We’re called the iTeam and we need your money to support our efforts as we walk in support of those battling to survive.

The team have employed numerous tactics for raising money locally but I thought I would also put the request out there into the blogosphere. If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause (any amount will make a difference) then you can do this at the Cancer Society Otago and Southland website by making an online donation on this page (select iTeam).

Thanks in advance to those who feel compelled to help.

Update: For more information check the official iTeam tumblelog. You may also want to attend an exclusive film showing of African Odyssey at the Rialto on Monday 16th February (tickets cost a measily $10).
