For your free listening edification (May 2011)
Get your hands on the following musical downloads from NZ and abroad. All of them absolutely free and guaranteed by me. If you like them, tell the world, see them, and buy their swag.
- Winston’s Essentials: A Polyvinyl sampler by Polyvinyl Records (These guys release delicious vinyl artefacts by Deerhoof and like bands which come with free 320kbps MP3 downloads)
- Benediction by Thurston Moore (First free track off the never-aging, Sonic Youth giant’s new solo album Demolished Thoughts - released through Matador Records)
- Circulation by Thurston Moore (Same as above but the second track, naturally)
- Heedless by No Joy (Free pre-release track from their recent album Ghost blonde. This band is a new discovery and they are great, loud, and noisy)
This May post is a tad late - sorry :(

- The Living Dead of Night by Tim Cornelius (Field music & improvised tinkerings by a Sandos Lab Technician. This is a single track that was created to soundtrack his comic)
- In Search of Spaces by Flying Saucer Attack (Majestic live recordings of FSA shows pulled together by Bruce Russell and originally released through Corpus Hermeticum in 1996)
- Velvet Underground & Nico - The Norman Dolph Acetate (These are tracks ripped off an unearthed 12” acetate made in 1966. It contained alternative recordings of the first Velvet Underground album)
- Mechanisme by Sunslide (Lovely, gentle, drifty, augemented field recordings found at the Free Music Archive)
